Illustrating a poetry book about the journey of youth and continuous growth was both a personal and artistic adventure for me. Working close to the auther, the book’s theme centers on the idea that our path is an ever-evolving journey.

In choosing sketches as illustrations, I aimed to reflect this concept of ongoing development. Sketches, by nature, are incomplete and ever-changing—just like us. This method highlights that our process of becoming is always in motion, capturing the essence of our growth rather than presenting a final, static image.
For the cover, I drew inspiration from Catholic imagery, specifically Maria, influenced by the author’s Christian upbringing. This choice carries a personal touch, evoking the nurturing and maternal aspects of faith while also symbolizing the inner child that we all carry within us. It’s a way of connecting the author's personal history with the universal theme of inner growth.

With the layout, I wanted to capture a youthful and playful spirit. I experimented with dynamic compositions and varied placements of sketches to evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity. This approach reflects the vitality of youth and adds an element of playfulness to the book, making the experience of reading it as dynamic and evolving as the journey it portrays.
This project has been a labor of love, and I hope it resonates with readers as a visual metaphor for their own paths of growth and exploration.
